The Standard Living Cost Differences (Germany+Indonesia)

Talking about the dissimilarities of living cost between in Indonesia and in Germany might be able to bring us into being astounding, because the mostly reality of living cost in Germany hasn't many disparities with the living cost in Indonesia.
Here I wanna bring you to find out a little bit its differences.
The special city of Indonesia which I will be using my previously living cost in Yogyakarta to be my measuring instrument and to compare the living costs of a couple cities in Germany where I was.

Yogyakarta is the only one small famous city in Indonesia with the cheapest standard living cost for students and called also as the city of student. You can meet with students from another cities of the whole Indonesia there and it belongs also the tourist city instead of Bali.

When I was doing my Senior High School/Abitur (Germ.) in Yogyakarta for 3 years, I still remember how much Euro (€) I needed to cover my living cost a month there.

  • A rented room per month / Miete (German Word) :  circa IDR 200.000 or it's just about 15,38 €
  • Estimate of food costs per month : approximatel IDR 620.000  or it's just around 47,70 €
  • The monthly Accommodation fee : about IDR  336.000 or it's about 25,85 €
  • The tuitution fee a month : circa IDR 600.000 or it's about 46,15 €
  • Other monthly expenses : circa IDR 300.000 or it's about 23,07 €
  • Total standard cost of living monthly : about IDR 2.056.000 and it's about 158.15 €

Yogyakarta where it's small beautiful town I ever lived compared to Jakarta where is the capital city of Indonesia and it's absolutely the living cost will be more expensive than the previously town I talked aforementioned about.
In Jakarta, I was attending the small German course for just 3 months and I was preparing my departure to Berlin-Germany for examples : I had to take care of my visa and anyway attend a couple German Tests of B1 Certificate.
Therefore I wanna show my expenditures for living in capital city.
But I actually stayed at my family house or ever once in a while at my friend appartment.
so I was paring my living cost down.
Nonetheless I could assesment the standard living cost of students there.

  • A rented room per month / Miete (German Word) :  circa IDR 800.000 or it's just about 76,92 €
  • Estimate of food costs per month : approximatel IDR 1.085.000  or it's just around 83,46 €
  • The monthly Accommodation fee : about IDR 350.000 or it's about 26,92 €
  • The tuitution fee a month : circa IDR 600.000 or it's about 46,15 €
  • Other monthly expenses : circa IDR 300.000 or it's about 23,07 €
  • Total standard cost of living monthly : about IDR 3.135.000 and it's about 241,15 €

From the capital city of indonesia, I will bring you all to see the living cost in Berlin where is the capital city of Germany. Right Here I found the cheapest döner price (a Turkish dish made of roasted meat cooked on a vertical spit.) namely  about 2,50 €.

From there, the döner price had been being my measurement to establish how inexpensive is the living cost of surrounding Germany.
In Berlin, I was doing my German Course to prepare for the Aufnahmeprüfung (entrance exams) of studienkollegs.

  • A rented room per month / Miete (German Word) :  circa 170 € or it's just about 2.210.000             (If you got the studentenwohnheim)
  • Estimate of food costs per month : approximatel 55 € or it's just around IDR 715.000
  • The monthly Accommodation fee : about 70 € or it's about IDR 910.000                                          (I bought the monatskarte)
  • The tuitution fee a month (no Semester Ticket) : circa 35 €  or it's about IDR 455.000          (Because I taked the German course, but I got an Information from my friend that if you study there, you just paid about 240 € inclusive Berlin's Semester ticket per semester )
  • Insurance expense : circa 45 € or it's about IDR 585.000
  • Other monthly expenses : circa IDR 20 € or it's about IDR 390.000
  • Total standard cost of living monthly as a student of German course at hartnack : about 395 € and it's about IDR 5.135.000
  • Total standard cost of living monthly as a student : about 330 € and it's about IDR 4.290.000

Side Jobs in Germany

How beautiful day is today, finally the sunshine come over my window with its warm feeling upon my skin.
It's making my day in spirit of the summer. And loosing to the running time I am momentarily going to work.
Fortunately the workplace is not so far away for me to go there. Therefore, in this little while I will use my time useful to write about my experiences of how to search a side job in Germany, What documents should be prepared on its, and which Deutschland Bundesländer enable to provide the more occasion to working. .

At first, I beginn with the point of which Deutschland Bundesländer are better to get the more occasion to working for student during the Studienkolleg/Bachelor Programm.
according to my previously experiences, I am voting to Badenwüttenberg Bundesland, There I see so much more available sidejobs.
According to my experiences when I was in Berlin, in Köthen-Anhalt, in Leipzig,in Saarbrücken, in Kaiserslautern, and finally in Bremen.

Berlin was very dominated the side jobs in touristment area. for examples : for student I usually saw mostly students work in Hotel services, in film show, and in Restaurants.
and I was once in my life working at the student restaurant there, and then I try to apply as a small actor/figurant in a film show because of recommended infos from my friend in Berlin.
The wage was surely very expectated with the easily tasks. I just redid  two until five movements on an ongoing basis within a day. Many bonuses that I got for. and the one that I liked it is that I worked not very hard, the chef just feed us with foods in restaurantly standard. and we might eat several times. there all foods you can eat.
For that reason that's why I love Working at film industry.

The next city after Berlin I lived was Köthen where is the small town in East-Germany. Here there were many indonesian students and students from china that they study here to prepare to attend to the Germany Universities.
But this town was very bad to find side jobs. many student usually search the side job oustside this city like they were moving to the west Germany to find the side jobs.
Despite the living cost is very cheaper than another city in Germany. my rent amounted as per month about 165 Euro. So Don't worry about your expenditure there. Your money will be safe.

Obstacles of studying in Germany

Now, on 4 April that means I will have been entering the 4th Semester in my Bachelor programm and officially my bachelor's programm will be ended in 7th Semester. But it might be late a years cause I should take my time not only just for studying but also I worked and I also will spending my time to do my internship later.
Studying abroad actually is not easier than you think, and an age can not be the measuring instrument to  judge a student looks like a fool student not that he/she was a lazy student but it is as they should maybe do something more advantageous or important for what they wanted and prioritized beforehand
.
Now I wanna share my experiences and my point of view as asian student who we have to follow the regulations of Germany government for non EU-Student which it is more complicated and it will take our brain to think smart in short time.

For examples of some classically Obstacles of studying in Germany   :
on my student visa was declared that
"Gilt nur zur Durchführung eines Studiums im Fach Betriebswirtschaft (Bachelor) an der Hochschule Bremen. Beschäftigung bis zu 90 Tagen oder 180 halben Tagen im Jahr sowie Ausübung studentischer Nebentätigkeit erlaubt."

this paragraph means de facto prescriptive that
we just get the work permitting to 90 days or an 180 half days in a year which a workday usually is about 8-10 work hours and an half workday is usually 3-5 hours a day, but it depends on our chefs. (e.g : I was making my owned note of my workdays in a month about 20 workdays but my chef said to me that I just worked about 12 workdays in that month, so it would be my profit because I still have more workdays in a year more than I thought beforehand.).
I actually make a note to antizipate from over 90 workdays. And if we worked over the 90 days, it will be threating our study in Germany,we will get penalty from foreigners' registration office because what we have done in Germany, all of datebase have been recorded by the foreigners' registration office and the unexpectived rumors that I read on internet media that we can be exmatriculated from our campus because of doing illegitimacy .:(

The Uniquenesses of Indonesia

Last Month, it's exactly on 07.02.2012 was being my 3'rd years in Germany where I've already gotten so much lessons in life how to survive here. And absolutely I'm proud to be a different person who come from indonesia. :)
Since I live here there were many people who I met beforehand asking about where / What is Indonesia ? and how beautiful is it ?.
They just knowed Bali very well but not Indonesia but actually the case is Bali is also the part of indonesia.
And all these questions are always being the difficult questions to me to give them the completed answer about., whereas I also don't know much more about the Culture-Wealthness of another provinces of Indonesia. and Anotherside I have fear to give them the unbonafited answers.
Hence I try to search some articles about my country in Internet which can help me perhaps to know a little bit about my country, and can help me explaining those people who will attack me with many questions someday . yeahh it would be not complete but it would be better if I know my country a little bit well than I don't know everythings about. ;)

Because of that I just wanna write some uniquenesses of Indonesia here.
Not much and not so completely but it would be enough to tell people who will be asking me.

So, Indonesia,
officially the Republic of Indonesia ,
it is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Indonesia has more than 17,500 islands.
It has 33 provinces with over 238 million people,
and is the world's fourth most populous country.
Indonesia is a republic, with an elected legislature and president.
The nation's capital city is Jakarta.
The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
